摘要

The increasing role of industry has affect the increasing percentage of several organic wastes and heavy metal wastes that could cause a serious problem in health and environment. Heavy metal waste, which was considered as a hazardous waste, often found in iron smelting industry or galvanization. Contents of heavy metal that was usually found in this waste are Iron (Fe), Plumbum (pb), Zinc (zn), Chromium (cr) and Copper (Cu). Several examples of heavy metal that contaminate environment are Iron (fe) and Zinc (zn). Adsorption technology is one of the metal separation solutions that its compatibility starts to be inspected. The presence of the husk of coconut that\u27s substantial in Indonesia makes this medium a very proportional choice to be adsorption medium and utilize the use of coconut husks. This research is done with the variation of size of active charcoal of coconut husk at the size of 20-35 mesh and activator NaOH at the measure of 0.5 M and 1M. The percentage of separation using this acvite charcoal of coconut husks is 99,994% for the parameter Fe, 99, 574% for the parameter Zn and 96,08% for the parameter tin
